Look, Another One

Hello my dearests. I come to you today bearing good tidings of great joy: I wrote another song!

Now, before I continue, I must get this out of the way: I am really weird.

I am probably the happiest, most upbeat person you will ever encounter. However, when writing songs, I delve into a sort of hidden part of me that most people never see. My lyrics are a little more profound than "Good golly Miss Molly/Today was jolly/I smile at the sun/A wonderous day's begun!" I like to be a bit more poetic. I guess my aesthetic would be something along the lines of "Angsty (I hate that word), but with a quirky upbeat feel and a silver lining." Or "Deep, thoughtful lyrics cloaked by a whimsical melody." I like that description better.

Also, I hate love songs.

HOWEVER. Today I beat the odds. I conquered myself and wrote a completely, 100% upbeat song about just being happy. And there was also a little love story in it! Give me a pat on the back! Go on, pat it! I'm thrilled at this accomplishment. Sure, the lyrics aren't the most profound in the world, but must they always be? It's cute, it's happy, and I'm glad to report it's a thousand per cent me. So what more can be said?

Owl City concert tomorrow! Oh frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!

LOOK! I won this at GattiLand with my large amount of hard-earned tickets! (I just played DDR and one slot game. I got, like, 5 tickets from Deal or No Deal. Robbed.)

I named him Jaques! He only fits on my thumb (my fingers are anorexically smallish). Is he not a glorious sight to behold?

Okay, that's enough chitty chatting for now, lads.

Have a good night, and be aweome.

Ciao!

An Introduction

Well hello there, inhabitants of the internet world. I'm Staci Marie Carriere, a singer, songwriter, musician, and resident dishcleaner (for you, Dad). Presented here is my very first blog. I'm quite excited. I love to write and express myself in various ways. In this blog, I will be talking about an array of subjects, from what's going on in my musical journey to what I had for breakfast this morning (a fruit shake).

Here is a picture:

I want one.

Anyways. Today is Sunday. Sunday is my favorite day. It's a day of relaxation and virtually doing nothing. Also, I planned a lesson today in church. I actually planned one. This is an accomplishment. A feat worthy of recognition. Now is the time to recognize my feat.

Thank you.

Yesterday, or maybe two days ago, I wrote a song. Los padres (I don't speak Spanish) helped me out. I had initially written a slow, melodic, haunting kind of tune using musicbox sounds on my nifty keyboard. But I was stuck in the rut of playing the same riff over and over (my piano skills are limited). Mom suddenly suggested going all Queen on it and transitioning from my musicbox beginning to an up-beat, piano-rock type deal. This is why I love collaboration -- I never would have thought of something like that! It turned out really quite awesomely. I can't wait to get back into the studio and work on some more stuff.

Owl City concert this Wednesday! I'm excited about that. I enjoy Adam Young. He's quite the lyricist. Lyrics are, to me, a very important -- if not crucial -- aspect to any song.

Oh dang. I've rambled enough.

But before I go, you have to listen to this one song!
It's called One More Drink by Enter the Haggis. I don't condone alcohol consumption, but the song is truly amazing. The fiddle is truly the most beast of all instruments.

All righty then.

Ciao!
